Web Based Licensing

System Preservation developed a system to track, license, and validate system software for a customer's products. This web based system on the client's Extranet enables authorized regional program staff to efficiently retrieve license keys for appropriate software/systems. All systems are tied to the client's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system for accurate and timely information on software sold to customers. To ensure proper management of the system, administrative functionality for updating and extending the product lines was built as well as extensible reporting functionality.

Work included design, development and rollout of the software system, as well as supporting activities such as providing training, documentation, and conversion of historical data. The solution was built on the .Net Platform in C# utilizing IIS, web services, MS SQL Server, and SAP.

Information Repository

System Preservation developed a portal to manage, organize and secure technical information for a client's internal and external customers. Users are allowed access only to areas that they are configured to see based on their user profile allowing for customized content and security. Security is also managed from a regional level for filtering of highly sensitive information.

Extensive administrative, notification and reporting systems were also created to aid in customer management. Daily updates are automatically pushed to appropriate customers based on their profiles. Management and reporting allow the client to control the site's content and view up to the minute information on specific activities.

Issue Tracking

System Preservation developed a web based tracking system to monitor a customer's hardware quality issues. Content is secured and processed through a customized workflow developed to streamline the defect reporting process, something that was done in a manual fashion previously. Customization in the administration process was built for future system expansion and various reporting components where developed to replace a previously cumbersome process that was done manually on a weekly basis. The system also ties into their Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to correlate data to their customer installed base.

Software Distribution

System Preservation developed a secure portal for a client's internal and external customers to gain access to relevant systems and software. Authorized users to the portal can access information, pertinent files and software related to their user profile as well as the ability to register their software once installed. Administrative capabilties allow for continual evolvement of the site content as well as robust reporting capabilities to show usage and track performance.

In addition to building the portal, migration of hitorical data from different legacy sites was also performed. Data was migrated from differing databases where it was transformed into the structure of the new sytem.
